Decaf coffee - when coffee and sleep go well together
Decaf coffee, as know by everyone, refers to coffee without caffeine. If you're the kind of people that have trouble sleeping, but still want to enjoy a nice cup of coffee after dinner, decaf coffee makes it possible.
Although sometimes you might want a cup of coffee to help you keep awake for a while longer, there are other times when that's exactly what you don't want. That's where the process of removing the caffeine from the coffee came to be, so that you had more options to choose from. To be called decaffeinated coffee, it is commonly known in the industry that atleast 97% of the caffeine should be removed, but many companies have achieved greater than 99% caffeine removal and still kept that great flavor and aroma we so desire.
Decaf coffee is obtained by processing unroasted coffee beans and extracting the caffeine from them. The decaffeination methods can be grouped into two methods: the first is using chemical decaffeinating agents that come directly into contact with the beans, and the second is using a water-coffee solution (the Swiss Water Process) where the water steams the caffeine out of the beans, is then removed and then has decaffeinating agents treat that water and remove the caffeine.
There is a large variety of unblended, blended, and flavored decaffeinated coffees with little sacrifice to aroma or flavor. So independent of which process you desire to remove the caffeine from your coffee, one thing is for certain, decaffeinated coffee will allow you to savor it without losing any sleep over it.
